Ag in the Classroom encourages teaching about agriculture and its role in our society and economy. Knox County Farm Bureau supports local teachers with resources and hands-on assistance so students understand where their food, fiber, and forest products come from.
How Knox County Gets Involved
- Classroom visits and volunteer speakers for local schools
- Garden grants to help teachers start school gardens and hands-on ag projects
- Access to the Tennessee Farm Bureau mobile learning units — the AgSimulator and Exploring Tennessee Agriculture Mobile Classroom — when they tour the region
- Professional development workshops for teachers on bringing agricultural topics into their lesson plans
